Privacy Policy of Blaze SEO
Last Updated: 12/29/2026
Blaze SEO is a free Chrome extension designed to help users perform on-page SEO analysis and competitive research. It analyzes publicly available web page content (such as titles, meta descriptions, headings, word counts, links, images, and performance metrics) on the pages you visit or specify, and optionally compares multiple pages.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data Blaze SEO collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that data. By installing and using Blaze SEO, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Data We Collect and How We Use It
Blaze SEO processes data only to provide its core SEO analysis features. We do not collect, store, or share personal information about you unless explicitly described below.
a. Web Page Content Analyzed Locally
- When you use Blaze SEO on a page, it reads and temporarily processes the page’s publicly visible content (e.g., HTML title, meta description, headings (H1-H6), text, links, images, alt text, schema markup, and other on-page elements).
- This processing happens entirely on your device (locally in the browser). No page content is transmitted to our servers or any third party.
- Purpose: To generate SEO metrics and comparisons displayed in the extension pop-up.
b. Google APIs (Optional Features)
Certain features require API calls to Google services:
- PageSpeed Insights API: If enabled (default on, toggleable in settings), Blaze SEO sends the analyzed page URL to Google’s PageSpeed Insights API to retrieve performance scores (mobile/desktop), Core Web Vitals, and mobile-friendliness data.
- Custom Search JSON API: Used to fetch top organic search results for a keyword you enter (for competitor analysis).
- Other Google APIs (if added in future updates, e.g., Places API for local SEO): Only used when relevant features are activated.
- Data sent: Only the page URL and (for search) your entered keyword.
- Data received: Public API responses (e.g., scores, result URLs/titles/snippets).
- These requests are made directly from your browser to Google. We do not intercept, store, or log this data.
- Purpose: To provide accurate performance and search result data for your analysis.
Google’s use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Compliance Note: The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
c. User-Provided API Keys (Optional)
- For features like PageSpeed Insights or Custom Search, you may enter your own Google API key in extension settings.
- This key is stored locally on your device (using Chrome storage) and used only for API requests from your browser.
- We do not access, store, or transmit your API keys to our servers.
d. Local Storage and Settings
- Blaze SEO stores your preferences locally on your device (e.g., theme, toggles for features like PageSpeed or semantic keywords, cached analysis results for 24 hours).
- This data never leaves your device and is used only to improve your experience (e.g., remembering recent analyses).
e. Optional Anonymous Usage Analytics
- Blaze SEO includes an opt-in feature (disabled by default) to send anonymous usage statistics to Google Analytics 4 (via Measurement Protocol).
- If you enable it in Settings > Anonymous Usage Analytics:
- We send non-identifying events (e.g., “analysis_started”, “export_clicked”, error occurrences) with basic metadata like extension version and anonymized session ID.
- No personal information, page URLs, keywords, or analysis content is sent.
- Purpose: To understand feature usage and errors, helping us improve Blaze SEO.
- You can disable this at any time; no data is sent when off.
- Analytics data is processed under Google’s privacy terms.
f. OpenAI API (Optional Feature)
- If you enable Semantic Keywords and provide your own OpenAI API key, Blaze SEO sends page content snippets (up to 6,000 characters) to OpenAI’s API to generate keyword suggestions.
- Your API key is stored locally and never transmitted to our servers.
- OpenAI’s use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your browsing history.
- Personal identifiers (e.g., name, email, IP address).
- Full page content or screenshots.
- Any data from pages you do not explicitly analyze.
- Blaze SEO does not track you across sites or sell data to third parties.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
- We do not share your data with third parties, except:
- API requests sent directly to Google (as described above).
- Anonymous analytics events (if opt-in enabled) sent to Google Analytics.
- We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.
4. Data Security
- All local data is stored securely using Chrome’s storage APIs.
- API communications use HTTPS.
- We follow best practices to minimize risks, but no method is 100% secure.
5. Children’s Privacy
Blaze SEO is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be noted in the extension or on our site. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
