Previously, as a U.S. Commercial Service Officer in China, Joshua collaborated with leading brands like Estee Lauder and Harley Davidson. He also initiated the eCommerce Innovation Lab for the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Who is Joshua Halpern?

Early Years and Global Exposure

Joshua Halpern grew up on Long Island, New York. From a young age his mom sent him abroad for summer programs. This early exposure sparked his interest in international affairs and travel.

Joshua attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, got a BFA in acting. After college Joshua moved to Spain where he started his first company. Upon returning to the US Joshua worked in nonprofit education, focusing on gang violence prevention. This involved bringing together diverse groups like gang leaders, police officers, school principals and gang members’ moms for unique team-building exercises. The goal was to strip away societal layers and have participants recognize their shared humanity.

Diplomatic Career and Ecommerce

Joshua then went to China where he started the Beijing Improv Theater Troop. This was not explicitly a cultural exchange or democratization through art but it was. Later he joined the U.S. Foreign Service and served as a diplomat and further developed his skills in international relations and cultural understanding.

He then entered the world of ecommerce where he uses his many skills to help businesses navigate global markets.
